• Family Open Day

  We held another successful Family Open Day where we welcomed family members along to view the school during a typical school day and to see the wonderful learning that takes place here at Normandy Primary School. Our Year 6 pupils acted as tour guides and did a fantastic job of guiding our visitors around the school and answering any questions which they were asked about a day in the life of a pupil at Normandy Primary School. If you were able to attend, I hope that you enjoyed the tour and managed to see for yourself how engaged and focussed our pupils are and saw many examples of the wonderful work that our children achieve.

• Hobgoblin Theatre - History of Maths

  To celebrate Maths week, we welcomed back the Hobgoblin Theatre Company who performed a fantastic interactive show with the children relating to the history of maths. The actors performed short sketches depicting scenes from different eras including Cave Men and how they learnt to count, Egyptians and how they used different shapes to build pyramids and the story of King Arthur and his round table. The children really enjoyed the interactive show and gained a greater knowledge of how maths has shaped history and how history has helped our maths learning.

• Maths 24 London Final

  Our Normandy 24 Maths team earned their way to the top floor of City Hall to compete in the Count On Us Primary Challenge Finals! Having competed our way through the heats we had a fantastic day at the final with the top 15 schools in London. Normandy did extremely well and showed amazing resilience when faced with challenges they had never seen before. We received a finals certificate and a medal to mark the mnumental achievement.

• Year 5 Swimming Gala

  Some of our Year 5 pupils took part in the annual swimming gala held at Erith Leisure Centre. They left school just after morning registration and made their way to the gala full of excitement about the mornings events. The children swam really well in the races that they took part in and Normandy came third overall. The teachers commented on how well behaved the children were and in particular, their good sportsmanship and how well they worked as a team.
