• Reception 2019 Open Day

  It was wonderful to welcome prospective Reception 2019 parents along to view Normandy Primary to show them the wonderful work and learning environment here at Normandy School. Parents listened to a short introduction from Mrs Whittington and were introduced to Mrs White, our Early Years Leader. After the talk, we invited the parents to have a look around the Reception area where they saw examples of the wonderful work which our children produce as well as seeing the remarkable resources on offer from climbing frames to our amazing mud kitchen. The pupils really enjoyed showing off their school to the visitors.

   

  If your child was born between 01/09/2014 and 31/08/2015 they are eligible to start Reception in September 2019. The deadline for applications to reception is 15th January 2019. Late applications will only be processed after all other applications have been received, so please ensure that you make the deadline.

• School Value Assembly - 'We are giving and we share' (Harvest)

  We held our annual Harvest Festival Assembly to a very large audience of parents and carers of Year 4 pupils. Mrs Odesanya, Miss Williams and Mr Wiltshire supported the children in preparing for the assembly. The children wowed us with melodic singing and clear spoken voices. We would like to thank everyone for their kind Harvest contributions which have been donated to our local Bexley Food Bank. We support many different charities over the year and are pleased to be able to donate and help where we can.

  

• Open Evening

  A huge thank you to those parents who attended our Open Evenings this week. It was wonderful to see so many of you in attendance, discussing your child's wonderful learning with the class teachers  and continuing to develop the relationship between school and home. We are extremely grateful for all of the many positive feedback comments which were left on our Parent Questionnaires. It is a real pleasure to read such amazing feedback and continue to strive as a school and community. THANK YOU for your ongoing support! Your feedback enables us to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. Children develop and make more progress when we are all working together as a whole school community.

• Skip Hop Workshops

  We welcomed back Lee Collinson from 'Skip-Hop' who ran skipping workshops for the whole school. Lee taught the children a variety of skipping moves during the workshops culminating in a wonderful presentation assembly with groups of children showing off their new skills. Lee has been coming to Normandy since September 2015 and he was incredibly complimentary about the school and the pupils. He couldn't stop talking about how polite, kind and helpful the children were. A huge thank you to Lee for such a fantastic opportunity for the pupils at Normandy Primary. What a fantastic way to keep fit and active.

  

• Independent Catering - Canada Day

  Our school catering team, Independent Catering, celebrated Canada Day with a special themed lunch. They served up a delicious menu consisting of Sticky BBQ Buffalo Chicken Thighs, Maple Vegetable Kebabs and finished off with a tasty dessert of Canada Squares. It was lovely to see so many of the children tucking into their lunch and enjoying the delicious food on offer. Thank you to the catering staff who always make the lunch experience for our pupils here at Normandy Primary such an enjoyable one.
