Our Year 6 pupils went along to Erith Fire Station, Belvedere to take part in TFL's Junior Citizenship Scheme. They took part in a carousel of activities delivered by different agencies and learnt life skills through different scenarios.
Some of these different scenarios included:
- Travelling by Bus and Underground - how to travel safely and how to use Oyster Cards in preparation for transition to Secondary School
- Metropolitan Police - how to keep safe and a workshop with Community Police
- London Fire Brigade - Fire Safety workshop
Thank you to all of the staff and in particular our parent helpers for supporting the pupils on this trip.
'I enjoyed my trip to Erith Fire Station. I especially enjoyed the session where we had a virtual bus tour. I also enjoyed the 5-10 minute walk to the park where we ate our lunch. It was highly educational' Maddison 6T
'I would recommend this trip because of how educational and exciting it was to watch. It also happens to be very fun' Soozan 6U
'I would highly recommend visiting Erith Fire Station as it was wonderfully educational and will help you a lot in later life. The best session was probably GAV (Growing Against Violence) which is what the world needs' William 6V
