Florence Nightingale - Year 2
This week, our Year 2 pupils have been continuing their studies on their topic on 'Pioneering Women' by focussing on Florence Nightingale. They learnt that Florence Nightingale was a nurse who helped soldiers who were hurt in the Crimean War and was known as the 'Lady of the Lamp' because she carried a lamp with her when she checked her patients in the night.
Frankie said "Florence Nightingale was a nurse who went to help in the Crimean War. She helped clean the hospitals to make the soldiers better."
Boycie said "Florence was a nurse born in 1820. She helped the soldiers by giving them medicine."
